With presents, decorations and all the expectation, there’s so much to think about when it comes to Christmas! That’s why we’ve come up with this handy checklist. To help you make sure that you don’t miss anything in the build up to the holidays.
Look the part – Get your outfit ready so you can feel glam or cosy. Will you dress up for the occasion or be in your pjs all day? Make this Christmas extra fun by having everyone wear a festive jumper! You can even get matching ones for all the family.
Save the date - Decide with your loved ones when and where you will be seeing them. Whether you’ll be hosting dinner at yours or you’re staying away with family, you’ll need to set these plans in motion as early as possible to get organised.
Are you hosting this year? Why not send a personalised Christmas party invitation and kick-start your plans.
Just a note to say… – Make a list of everyone you want to send a Christmas card to. Shop around to find the perfect ones and write them early. You might have a lot of people on the list, which will take a while to get through!
Have they been naughty or nice? – Create a list for all the gifts you’re thinking of getting. Keep in mind last order delivery dates if you’re shopping online. Wrap presents up as soon as they arrive so you won’t have to do it all last minute on Christmas Eve! Keep wrapped presents in personalised Christmas stockings so they’re out of the way until the big day.
O Christmas tree – Choose whether you’ll be getting a real tree or an artificial one. Remember that all Christmas trees are felled at the same time so there’s not really any point in waiting to buy one.
Crack out the tinsel and ceiling garlands - Decorate the house and tree to get into the festive spirit. Make it more of a fun, family activity by getting everyone involved. You could even get personalised hanging decorations for each member of the family to make it extra special.
First class service – Send any presents and cards in the post. Make sure to leave plenty of time for them to arrive before the day.
Did someone say gin? – Finalise what you’ll be eating and drinking on the day and make sure anyone with dietary needs is accommodated for. Order the non-perishable food and drink as early as possible so there isn’t a mad rush to get everything at the end.
Set the table – You probably have a special set of plates which you only use for the big day. Make the meal extra special by getting some festive placemats and table decorations. Put out name cards if you have a lot of guests coming.
Festive cheer at the ready - Charge your camera/phone the night before. After all the hard work you’ll want to look back on the great memories you made with your loved ones on the day. Keep your devices charged so you can snap every reaction.
Remember to have fun – While there is a lot of prep for just one day, make sure you take a moment to enjoy being with the people you love. Savour your hard work and soak up all the praise after the day is done.
